Basic End User Computing

Tech Data — Basic End User Computing. A free short course in computer literacy, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and online safety. It teaches you to use a computer confidently for everyday work: switching a machine on and off correctly, finding and organising your files, using the internet and email safely, and producing documents, spreadsheets and presentations that look professional.

No previous computer experience is needed. Approximately 70 hours of contact time across seven units.

Important: this is a free, non-credit-bearing short course. It is not an accredited qualification, it does not carry NQF credits, and it is not registered on the National Learners' Records Database. Tech Data is not accredited by the QCTO or the MICT SETA. Learners completing this course receive a Tech Data certificate of completion. Learners wanting a credit-bearing outcome should enrol for SP-240201 Basic End User Computing with a QCTO-accredited Skills Development Provider — this course is designed to prepare them well for that step.

Intermediate End User Computing

A free short course from Tech Data covering advanced Word, Excel analysis, professional presentations and collaboration. You already know how to use a computer; this course is about the gap between using Office and using it well.

Every unit follows the same discipline: plan, build, test, improve. Approximately 90 hours, delivered over twelve days full-time or twelve to sixteen weeks part-time.

Important: this is a free, non-credit-bearing short course. It is not accredited by the QCTO or MICT SETA and carries no NQF credits. It is modelled on and prepares learners for QCTO skills programme SP-240202 Intermediate End User Computing (NQF 4, 20 credits).
